KATHMANDU:Yeti Airlines will provide free air tickets for cancer patients
Yeti Airlines announced that it will provide free air tickets to cancer patients seeking treatment at Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital (Birat Cancer Institute).
Yeti Airline's Chief Business Officer, Yuvaraj Bista, announced that this facility has been introduced to assist cancer patients as part of the airline's social responsibility.
'We hope that this facility will provide greater inspiration to every cancer patient,' Bista stated. 'Free air tickets will be offered not only to cancer patients in the East, but also to cancer patients throughout Nepal. We developed this plan in partnership with Birat Cancer Institute.
To obtain the complimentary ticket, the patient must contact the Birat Cancer Institute and provide the relevant documents.
Dr. Nikita Karki, Vice Chairperson of Birat Cancer Institute, stated that the hospital's specialist doctors will issue cancer patients with a certificate/identity card based on their documentation and will arrange to book tickets before to their arrival for treatment.
Karki added, 'Patients can directly contact the hospital number 9852044266 for ticket booking after taking a doctor's appointment.'
Similarly, the airline has informed that the passenger must present the identity card certified by the hospital as a cancer patient at the counter of Yeti Airlines when checking in at the airport.
Yeti Airlines and Birat Cancer Institute announced an agreement on February 29 (Falgun 17) to provide free air ticket to cancer patients throughout Nepal.
