Balloon Nepal participates in International Balloon Fiesta held in Thailand

KATHMANDU, Feb 20:Balloon Nepal, Nepal's hot air balloon company, took part in the 'Singha Park Chiang Rai International Balloon Fiesta' in Thailand.

Balloon Nepal's President Bikram Bade and Director BB Dhakal attended the five-day event, which took held at Singha Park in Chiang Rai, Thailand, from February 14 to 18, 2024.

The program featured 80 balloons, including 20 commercial and 60 small balloons. Balloon companies from 12 nations, including Nepal, took part.

Director Dhakal stated that the national flags of 20 countries were flown in various balloons throughout the program, with the Nepalese flag flying in one of them.

Various competitive games were held every day of the program, which concluded on Sunday.Dhakal, director of the company in which Balloon Nepal served as an observer, stated.

According to Dhakal, the festival, which ended on Sunday, featured new competitive games each day. To celebrate the pilots and balloon personnel involved, Balloon Nepal hosted a 'Nepali Night' on Sunday evening, which included a supper and gifts of Nepali Dhaka hats, traditional food, and Buddha figurines.

Director Dhakal noted that such a program would be tremendously beneficial to the country's marketing efforts. 'I am delighted to inform you that there are balloons in Nepal.'

He stated that the festival gave a platform to address misconceptions regarding Buddha's birthplace, notifying guests that Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal, in front of an audience of up to 1.5 lakh people.

Dhakal also emphasized the possibility for luring tourists from other countries to similar events in Nepal, and showed an interest in creating a 'balloon glow' program in Nepal, similar to the one held in Thailand. This is the first time a Nepali company has participated in an international balloon event, according to Dhakal.

The event, organized by Thailand's Flying Media, included local cultural performances and drew a total of one million people over five days.
