PATA Nepal Chapter Kicks off the 6th PATA Youth Talent Quest
KATHMANDU, Feb 14:The sixth edition of the PATA Youth Talent Quest (YTQ2024) began on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, with the Public Speaking Competition at GATE College, Mandikatar, Kathmandu.
Young Tourism Professional (YTP) speakers addressed themes such as sustainability, innovation, emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities for tourism development in Nepal.
The panel of jury members, including Mr. Dipendra Purush Dhakal (Former Secretary-Ministry of Tourism), Mr. Narendra Deo Bhatta (MD-Heritage Tours & Travels), and Mr. Sunil Sakya (Chairman-KGH Group of Hotels and Resorts), evaluated the participants.
Ms. Manabhi Sing Ayer from Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHM) emerged as the winner of the Public Speaking Competition. Ms. Shreenidhi Sharma from Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education (GATE) and Ms. Prabha Rai from the International School of Tourism & Hotel Management (IST) secured the 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up positions, respectively.
The 6th Youth Talent Quest is organized by PATA Nepal Chapter in collaboration with the PATA Nepal Student Chapter, with support from various partner organizations, including Buddha Air; KGH Group of Hotels and Resorts; Community Homestay Network; HighGround Adventures Nepal; and PATA Nepal Chapter member colleges such as GATE, NATHM, Mid-Valley Int’l, IST, and GCI.
The upcoming events in the 6th Youth Talent Quest include the Tourism & Hospitality Quiz Competition on 8th February at Mid-Valley Int’l College, and the Content Writing and YTP Chefs Competition at NATHM on 10th February 2024.
Youth Talent Quest (YTQ) is an annual event by PATA Nepal Chapter as a part of its engagement with Young Tourism Professionals (YTPs) that provides a platform among the students from PATA Nepal Chapter member colleges to compete and showcase their multifaceted talents, knowledge, and skills. It aims to uncover talented young tourism professionals, and further empower them with the necessary training, involvement, and exposure to PATA Nepal Chapter programs and activities, and engage them in the best possible way to carve their successful future endeavors.
