Visit Bharatpur 2024 Delayed by Three Months
CHITWAN, Dec 24:Bharatpur metropolitan city made a unanimous decision to delay ‘Visit Bharatpur 2024’ by three months in a board meeting last Friday. The postponement is due to issues with the completion of vital road projects and insufficient preparations. Specifically, ongoing construction on the Narayangadh-Muglin road section (blocked for 4 hours each day for 3 weeks since yesterday), Muglin-Pokhara, and Narayangadh-Butwal road sections, as well as the Pulchok-Gondrang road, is causing infrastructure and transport issues for both domestic and international tourists to visit and travel. The ongoing renovations at Diyalo Palace were also a factor in the decision to reschedule the event.
Metropolitan Chief Renu Dahal emphasized the collaborative nature of the upcoming visit year, stating that decisions will be made in consultation with the private sector.
Hotel Professional Federation Nepal (HPFN) chairman Dinesh Kumar Chuke shared insights into the delay of 'Visit Bharatpur 2024.' The hotel and tourism industry leaders have also recommended the postponement, aligning with the concerns raised by various stakeholders. Since the Bagmati state government is set to declare the visit year on January 1, the provincial government has also recommended avoiding simultaneous inauguration programs.
Amidst these considerations, the year 2024 is poised to be declared the 'Year of Tourism,' with the aim of attracting both domestic and foreign tourists to the vibrant Bharatpur Metropolis.
