Global IME Bank launches "Visa Scan to Pay" service

KATHMANDU:Global IME Bank has launched the 'Visa Scan to Pay' payment system.

Global IME Bank launched the 'Visa Scan to Pay' system with the switching facility of Nepal Electronic Payment Solution and technical help from Swift Technology on Monday.

Dr. Gunakar Bhatt, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, Ratnaraj Bajracharya, Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank, Sanjeev Subba, and Niraj Dhungana, Chief Executive Officer of Swift Technology, launched the service with the first transaction by scanning the QR code.

Customers can now make payments without a physical card by scanning a QR code with Global IME Bank's mobile app, Global Smart Plus. That is, the credit card balance can now be spent by scanning the QR code with the bank's mobile banking app. 

Visa Scan to Pay is a service that allows you to pay with your credit card at merchants. Where you can pay with your smartphone instead of a credit card.

According to Bhatta, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, this technology released by the bank will be a milestone in the development of the digital transaction landscape in Nepal. He expressed his gratitude to the bank and everyone involved in developing new technologies to build a digital Nepal, as envisioned by the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank.

Global IME Bank CEO Bajracharya stated that the bank has always been in the forefront of expanding new technology.

Subba, CEO of Nepal Electronic Payment Solutions, underlined the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the development and extension of technology.
