Chairman Dhakal of Global IME Bank take oath of office and secrecy

KATHMANDU:Global IME Bank Limited President Chandra Prasad Dhakal took the oath of office and secrecy before Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari on Sunday. 

Dhakal Bank, who is also the chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), was unanimously elected as a member of the board of directors at the recently held 17th annual general meeting and as the chairman at the first meeting of the newly elected board of directors.

President Dhakal stated during the ceremony that IME, which began as a modest company providing remittance services, has grown to its current position by adhering to the policies and standards of the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank.

He recalled the assistance provided by Nepal Rastra Bank and its leadership in bringing the bank to its current form and stated that such assistance will be required in the future to further expand the banking industry.


Dhakal remarked that it is vital for Nepali banks to become digital and technology friendly in response to changing global conditions, and he also indicated his willingness to take measures to strengthen and improve the Global IME Bank during his tenure.

After obtaining the oath of office and confidentiality from Rastra Bank's Governor, Dhakal administered the oath to the newly elected directors on Sunday.

At Global IME Bank's 17th Annual ordinary Meeting, Dhakal, Ram Bahadur Bhandari, and Radhesh Pant, among the founder shareholders, and Krishna Prasad Sharma, Narayan Prasad Poudel, and Madanlal Joshi, among the ordinary shareholders, were unanimously elected to the Board of Directors.

Dr Neelam Dhungana Timsina, Deputy Governor of Rastra Bank, and Bam Bahadur Mishra, Executive Directors, Board Members of Global IME Bank, the Chief Executive Officer, and other senior officials were also present.
