Rupandehi entrepreneurs's demand to bring Gautam Buddha Airport into regular operation
RUPANDEHI, Nov 29:Rupandehi entrepreneurs submitted a memorandum to Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba demanding that Gautam Budh International Airport resume operations.
Thakur Kumar Shrestha, President of Siddharthnagar Industry and Commerce Association, informed Thakur Kumar Shrestha that Deuba, who arrived in Bhairahawa on Tuesday, was presented with a memorandum by Siddharthnagar Industry and Commerce Association Rupandehi, asking him to take initiative for the airport's regular operation.
According to Shrestha, entrepreneurs have submitted a memorandum to Congress President Deuba outlining seven demands. "Until the flight of the national flag carrier is started, as other domestic and foreign airlines have not accepted, we demand for the continuous flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation," he went on to say.
Entrepreneurs have demanded that the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation begin flights from Bhairahawa not only to Malaysia, but also to Delhi and Qatar. Entrepreneurs have demanded that regular flights to Lumbini, the Buddhist hub of the world, be coordinated with all Buddhist countries around the world.
To make Lumbini Province economically viable, it has been requested that at least 25% of international flights departing from Tribhuvan International Airport coordinate to fly from Gautam Buddha International Airport.
Seeing the potential of the tourism sector before and after the operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport, hotel and tourism businessmen have already invested more than 80 billion rupees.
He stated that there has been a request for a one-year extension of the various discount services provided to airline companies at the airport.
