Chhath Puja celebrated in Kathmandu (Photo Feature)

On Sunday, the Hindu festival dedicated to the sun god, Chhath Puja, was observed across the country.

The occasion was also observed in Kathmandu by worshiping and making offerings to the setting sun on the Bagmati riverside at Thapathali.

Many devotees flocked to the riverbanks to see the festivities.

Surya, the sun god, and his sister Chhathi Mata are worshiped during the four-day Chhath festival.

Devotees worship and offer arghya to the rising and dying suns, wishing their family and children happiness and prosperity.
