Over 8 lakh tourists visit Nepal in 10 months of 2023
KATHMANDU, Nov 18:In the first ten months of 2023, almost two times as many tourists entered Nepal as the previous year.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 809,678 tourists visited Nepal between January and October 2023.
In the first ten months of 2022, four lakh 73 thousand 563 tourists arrived.
According to the board, three lakh 36 thousand 115 more tourists visited Nepal in the first ten months of this year than in the same period last year. Most tourists arrived in Nepal this year after visiting in 2019.
According to the authority, one lakh seventeen thousand thirty six visitors visited Nepal in October 2023 alone.
Tourists entered in 55,074 in January, 73,255 in February, 99,426 in March, 98,773 in April, 77,703 in May, 72,250 in June, 57,726 in July, 67,153 in August, and 91,012 in September.
At the end of 2019, after the corona virus spread from China to the whole world, the number of tourists visiting Nepal had dropped significantly since 2020.
In 2019, the majority of tourists visited Nepal. Nepal received 11 lakh 97 thousand 191 tourists that year.
After most of the countries of the world resorted to lockdowns to control the coronavirus pandemic, the number of tourists coming to Nepal decreased. The data of the NTB shows that most tourists have entered Nepal this year after the start of the Corona pandemic.
