Tihar, also known as the festival of lights.

On the third day of the Tihar festival, devotees worshiped Laxmi, the goddess of prosperity, luxury, and success, on Sunday evening.

 On this day, people clean their homes and surroundings, illuminate them, and light butter lamps to 'welcome' the goddess, believing that the goddess Laxmi despises filthy and disorganized households. 

The night of happiness," is another name for the night of Laxmi Puja since it is believed that Goddess Laxmi visits the house on this fortunate night.
