Siddhartha Hospitality promotes indigenous products of Karnali province
SURKHET, 04:Siddhartha Sunny Resort, the first four-star hotel in Karnali Province, is located in Birendranagar, Surkhet, has emphasized promoting the province's indigenous products. Siddhartha promotes and sells a various local products via its souvenir shop.
Ramkrishna Timilsena, the hotel's operations manager, noted that the souvenir shop sells beans, marshy rice, corn, honey, walnuts, rudraksha, and green tea. According to him, the souvenir shop also sells Raute and other community-made wooden products, as well as Tharu-made dhakiyas, baskets, and doko.
Although it is common for hotels to keep jewelry and clothing in their souvenir stores, this hotel has retained indigenous handicrafts from the region. "This initiative was launched to enable service recipients to take various products and organic agricultural products as souvenirs as a symbol of Karnali," according to him. "We expect that this effort will promote and market local products as well as encourage farmers."
The committee chair, Udiram Dangi, stated that the supply of the products to Siddhartha Hotel was coordinated with the Micro Industrial Village Management Committee of Karnali Province's Ministry of Industry, which promotes local crops and other products.
