NTC starts mobile service in Tinkar

KATHMANDU:Nepal Telecom has started a mobile service in Tinkar, the last village in the North West of Nepal.

People in that area may readily make calls using their mobile phones after the mobile service was launched on October 16th.

Nepal Telecom has introduced a 2G technology service in Tinkar, which is located in Byas rural municipality ward number 1 of Darchula district and is connected to the Chinese border.

Tinkar had received the necessary materials from the company from Attaria in Kailali and Chhangru in Darchula.

Previously, two VSAT telephone connections were in operation in that area. Around 500 consumers in the Tinkar area can now converse using their cell phones.

Aside from that, the company stated that the armed police force, the police operating in the region police office, and visitors visiting the area will gain from this.

Tinkar, located at an elevation of around 3,700 meters, is a Nepal-India-China tri-junction about 12 kilometers from Chhangru and about 80 kilometers from the headquarters, Khalanga.

You can reach pillar number one near the Chinese border after walking around 8 kilometers from there.

Nepal Telecom has continued to develop telecommunication services in areas where returns are low and investments are relatively costly, and has now offered the service in Tinkar as well.
