Nirmal Purja scales Mt Manaslu without oxygen

KATHMANDU, Sep 21:Nirmal Purja, the world record holder, successfully climbed  Mt Manaslu (8,163 meters) without oxygen.

Kushal Budhathoki, Managing Director of Elite Himalayan Adventures Private Limited, stated that he summited Manaslu at 8:12 a.m. on Sunday. According to the company, 13 climbers were able to summit Manaslu alongside Purja. This is the first climbers to attempt to summit Manaslu this autumn.

Purja has climbed 12 of the world's 14 peaks higher than 8,000 without oxygen, including Manaslu.  Now he has yet to climb Cho Oyu and Shishapangma without oxygen. According to Budhathoki, Purja can set another world record if he climbs these two mountains without oxygen.
