Mingma David Sherpa makes successful ascent of Mt Kilimanjaro

KATHMANDU, August 13: Renowned Nepali Mountaineer Mingma David Sherpa made a successful ascent of Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters) at 7:AM on Saturday.


With the ascent of Mt Kilimanjaro, Sherpas have managed to climb five of the highest peaks of the seven continents. 
He has successfully climbed Mt Everest, Mt Aconcagua, Mt Elbrus, Mt Denali, and now Kilimanjaro which are among the highest peaks across seven continents. Sherpa now plans to climb Carstensz Pyramid in Australia and Mt Vinson in Antarctica.


Sherpas had successfully climbed Mt K2 for the sixth time, the second-highest mountain in Pakistan, before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. 


Sherpa also launched the 'Clean As You Go' and 'Leave No Treks Policy' campaigns during his sixth climb of Mount K2. Sherpa is also the youngest climber to climb all 14 mountains of 8,000 meters in the world.
