Police station established at Shey Phoksundo Lake to protect tourists

DOLPA, June 16: A temporary police station has been set up at Shey-Phoksundo Lake, a tourist attraction in Rigmo village of Shey-Phoksundo Rural Municipality-8 in Upper Dolpa.

Bhim Prasad Dhakal, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Provincial Police Office Surkhet, arrived at She-Phoksundo Lake and established a temporary police post.

According to Dhakal, a temporary police post was constructed for the first time to prevent criminal activities in Shey-Phoksundo, a magnificent tourist destination that attracts both domestic and foreign visitors, and it will be made permanent by gradually finishing it with resources.

Similarly, as the number of tourists visiting Shey-Phoksundo Lake has increased recently, Deputy Inspector General Dhakal announced that a tourist police unit will be established in Shey Phoksundo soon to provide security to tourists and in accordance with the concept of'safe Shey Phoksundo safe tourists'.

Every day, a large number of people visit Shey-Phoksundo Lake. During the cold season, the seven Upper Dolpa police stations are relocated to the headquarters. The police station has been relocated due to a lack of essential management.
