NTC announces reduced roaming charges in India and Thailand
KATHMANDU:Nepal Telecom has significantly reduced roaming charges for using Nepal Telecom's prepaid and postpaid mobile services in India and Thailand.
On the occasion of 'ITU Day 2023' which will be celebrated on May 17, Telecom informed that the new tariff rate will be effective from May 17, 2023.
Customers going to these two countries with Nepal Telecom's prepaid and postpaid mobile phones can use roaming services at much lower tariffs than before. According to the new rates, calling any number in India with a Nepal Telecom SIM in India will cost Rs 7 will be charged only. Similarly, even when picking up a call from any number in Nepal or any other country, per minute Rs 7 will be charged, while SMS will cost Rs. It will take Rs 7.
Currently, calls to any number in India are charged Rs 30, calls received from other numbers are charged Rs 14 and SMSs are charged Rs 24.
Similarly, when calling a number in Thailand from Nepal Telecom's prepaid and postpaid mobile in Thailand and calling a number in Nepal, it will cost only Rs 50 per minute. Similarly, receiving calls will cost Rs 25 per minute and sending SMS will cost Rs 10 per SMS.
Currently, there is a provision of Rs 135 for calling a number and Rs 90 for picking up a call from another number. SMS charges Rs 34 per SMS.
Similarly, running data, which currently costs Rs 40 per MB, will now cost only Rs 0.49 per 100 KB. According to this, it will cost only about Rs 5 per MB.
International roaming service is the facility to use Nepal Telecom's mobile number even when traveling/staying in other countries. After taking this facility, you can use Nepal Telecom's mobile number (SIM) to make calls, use the Internet, and exchange SMS even when you are abroad.
