Committed to success of Fewa Festival

POKHARA, April 01:Businessmen said that the issue of security is sensitive and that they should be aware of any untoward incident during the festival during a discussion program organized by the organizing hotel association Pokhara Nepal on Friday to get suggestions and advice about the festival. Similarly, during the festival, businessmen inquired about discounts and concessions available in restaurants, hotels, and other tourist services.

Fewa New Year Festival will be held on the 12th, 13th, and 14th of April from Ammat to Hallanchowk on Pokhara's lakeside.

Pomnarayan Shrestha, Chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council, stated that Fewa Festival has established itself as a brand and suggested that it be improved and branded further.

He also suggested that hotels publish the price of the room in advance and offer a pre-booking service. He stated that propaganda efforts should be stepped up through social media and other digital channels.

Speaking on the occasion, Laxman Subedi, president of the association and festival coordinator, stated that the association's hotels have arranged a 20% discount on room rates, as in the past. He also stated that they plan to advance the festival by working with REBAN Pokhara. 

He stated that the festival's goal is to promote tourism by focusing on food, culture, and tourism, as well as to revitalize tourism that has suffered as a result of Covid-19. 

He also stated that hotel occupancy has dropped significantly during the season as a result of the ongoing Prithvi Highway upgrade work and the recent ship accident in Pokhara. Admission is free to the festival.

Bikal Tulachan, the association's former president, gave a vote of thanks, and the program was moderated by Rajendra Dhakal, the general secretary.
