CAAN invites bids for three airport upgrade

KATHMANDU, March 21:The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has invited a tender for the upgrade of three airports.

The CAAN plans to upgrade the airports in Bhojpur, Meghauli, and Simara.

Bhojpur airport will be upgraded including the terminal building.

Tenders have been invited for the maintenance of the runway of Meghauli Airport in Chitwan.

The estimated cost of upgrading the Meghauli airport is Rs 14.7 million.

Tenders have also been invited for the Simara Airport runway overlay, fencing, and other works.

There are regular flights from Bhojpur and Simara, but Meghauli Airport, which was built in 1961, is not operational.
