Govt begins issuing climbing permits for spring season
KATHMAMDU, March 18: For mountain climbers in the spring season, the government has begun issuing permits. 27 individuals from 5 groups have up until Thursday received climbing permits, according to the department of tourism. 11 of them are female.
Until Thursday, climbing permits had been issued forAnnapurna-I, Manaslu, Pangri Goldumba, Surma Sarovar and Thorong Peak, according to the department. Rs 3.9 million royalty has been collected from them.
According to the department, six climber are from South Korea, and three-three are from the United States and the United Kingdom. Permission has already been granted to two climber each from Norway, Macedonia, Romania, and China.
