NATTA broke lockout

KATHMANDU, March 15: The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has lifted the Lockout that had been in place for several days. NATTA stated in a press release that daily administrative work has resumed following the break of the Lockout.

The United Tourism Trade Union Forum has been hammering out its demands for some time now, despite the fact that they have been discussed at various stages.

According to NATTA's press release, NATTA has been locked in a situation where it is attempting to solve the problem by discussing it with all related parties in order to fulfill the demands related to it.

The NATTA Secretariat has informed that on March 10, 2023, while negotiations were taking place in the NATTA Secretariat, representatives from the forum abruptly left the talks and locked the NATTA office on March 10, 2023.

Important tourism promotional activities on the NATTA calendar have been postponed, and in the tourism industry, which is still trying to recover from Covid-19, this type of incident has sent a negative message to the country and abroad, creating a situation that will cause long-term damage to Nepal's tourism development.
