Night flight starts at Pokhara International airport

POKHARA, March 12:Night flights have started from Pokhara International Airport. Bikram Gautam, the airport's chief, said that by making the international airport a hub, night flights from four domestic airports have started.

According to him, Buddha Air, a private sector air service provider company, has started night flights from Pokhara International Airport to four different destinations from Thursday night.


According to the airport, there are night flights to Pokhara from Kathmandu, Bhadrapur, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj. The ships of all four destinations, which were overnight in Pokhara, took flight to their respective destinations this morning.

He expressed his belief that the night flight schedule will be operated and this will contribute significantly to the convenience of passengers as well as to the development of tourism.

"The night flight will provide convenience to the essential working passengers and will make the 'city life' sustainable. It will also help to make the tourism industry viable", said Chief Gautam.

According to Dipendra Kumar Karna, the information officer of Buddha Air, the aircraft that was grounded in Pokhara after taking a night flight has again flown from Pokhara to Kathmandu, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Bhadrapur this morning.

He expressed his belief that the night flight started simultaneously by making Pokhara a hub will help the passengers to travel easily as well as develop tourism in the country and create more jobs at the local level.

Passengers who reach Pokhara in various Shilshilas will be able to return to their destination in the morning after staying in Pokhara in the evening and sightseeing.

According to the scheduled night flight schedule, Bhadrapur-Pokhara is at 6:55 pm, Bhairahawa-Pokhara is at 7:25 pm, Nepalgunj-Pokhara is at 7:30 pm and Kathmandu-Pokhara is at 7:35 pm. The Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) system was implemented at Pokhara International Airport on February 23.

Private sector Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines and Saurya Air have been flying Kathmandu-Pokhara domestically at Pokhara International Airport. Tara Air and Summit Air have been flying stalled routes from Pokhara's old domestic airport.
