Girls' mountaineering training at Jugal Himal basecamp

SINDHUPALCHOWK, March 07: 106 girls traveled to the Jugal Himal base camp in Sindhupalchowk's Jugal Rural Municipality and received local mountaineering training.

Under the initiative of GIA, a global adventure organization, the training was provided with the financial support of Jugal Rural Municipality, Chautara Sangachokgadhi, and Melamchi Municipality. During a three-day trip to Jugal Rural Municipality, the girls learned about the district's history, geography, and religious culture.

Milan Tamang, Coordinator of the Jugal Rural Municipality Tourism Committee, stated that learning the art of mountain climbing at the local level will aid in the development of tourism promotion. He claims that results will only come after training.

Tamang stated that 35 of the participants will receive mountain guide training.

As part of the overall mountain climbing training, five international mountaineer trainers taught the mountaineers about trekking maps, first aid training, necessary materials, and mountain climbing preparation.

They were trained by 11 trainers.
