Fewa New Year festival to begins on April 12

POKHARA, March 06: The Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal has started preparations for the 18th Fewa New Year Festival.

Laxman Subedi, president of the association and coordinator of the festival, said that this festival will be held on April 12,13,14 the street from Ammat to Hallanchowk located on the lakeside of Pokhara.

According to Co-ordinator Subedi, the festival is expected to help increase tourism activities by reviving tourism that has been affected by the Covid-19. The festival is provided to  Free entry.

He also expressed his belief that the festival will help to promote domestic and international tourism by ensuring the sustainability of economic activities. The Nepali New Year, like the English New Year, will be celebrated with pomp and circumstance, with a focus on food, culture, and music. The association hopes that the festival will send a message about the importance of protecting Fewa Lake.

Deepak Shrestha, the association's first vice-president and the festival's assistant coordinator, stated that preparations for the festival have been made through the formation of various sub-committees.

Ganesh Pahari, the association's second vice-president and another festival assistant coordinator, stated that the festival will feature a program of dohori and geet sangeet, a pop concert, dance, and other entertaining performances.

Before the festival begins, there will be a tableau rally. Rajendra Dhakal, the association's general secretary, stated that information about the festival's preparations and promotional program will be released soon.
