Tourism Minister Kirati question: Why holy Lumbini unholy works?

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, expressed his displeasure saying that the holy land of Lumbini is being defiled. Speaking after the briefing of the Lumbini Development Trust at the Ministry on Sunday, Minister Kirati said that Lumbini, a heritage that the world cannot photocopy, has been defamed.  The officials appointed by the government for the development of Lumbini must not forget their roles, he said.

Minister Kirati said that the holy and religious tourist area was filled with pasture and garbage. He said that Lumbini was built as a pasture that there was a lack of management. He has expressed his displeasure saying that one structure was created and another structure was created without using it properly.

He expressed his displeasure with the Lumbini Development Trust saying that despite having sufficient budget, it could not work. He said, "If it's a political issue, tell me, but now it's not going to work, what you did yesterday, now work is needed." He also instructed the fund to submit a weekly work report.

He also warned that no one can tempt him. "I am not going to be influenced by anyone, no one should try and dare to influence us."
