Lumbini cable car to be operational from February/March

 

KATHMANDU, Jan 13:The under construction Lumbini cable car from Butwal to Basantpur in Palpa will be operational from February/March.

At the company's 19th Annual General Meeting held in Kathmandu on Friday, Lumbini Cable Car Pvt. Ltd. Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal stated that the construction work on the civil side of the towers has almost been completed and said that the cable car will be operational from February.

"The civil construction work of the cable car towers has been completed," he said, "the civil construction work of the temple area at the top station is also progressing rapidly."

He said that the work of importing all the gondolas and other equipment of the cable car from abroad has already been done. He informed that the connection work of 7 of the 9 towers has been completed and the connection work of the remaining 2 has reached the final stage.

"The installation of cable car equipment at the top station has been completed, while the installation of cable car equipment at the bottom station is progressing," he said.

Dhakal also said that the construction and installation of all electromechanical work is progressing rapidly. The cable car construction work started in January 2021.
