Vishnu Kumar Agarwal urged Rastra Bank to focus on reducing interest rates and facilitating liquidity

KATHMANDU:Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), has urged the Nepal Rastra Bank to focus on reducing interest rates and facilitating liquidity in the half-yearly review of monetary policy. In a program organized on the occasion of the start of integrated transaction between Global IME Bank and Bank Kathmandu held on Monday in Kathmandu, he said that if the interest rate of the bank can be reduced, the morale of industrialists and businessmen will be high.

President Agarwal suggested that with Global IME Bank becoming the largest bank in the country, the interest rate of the bank should be reduced in the future. He said that even though the CD ratio is getting easier, the confidence to invest in banks has not come. He asked the Rastra Bank to create confidence for banks to invest. He said that now the liquidity is easy and it is necessary to pay attention to how the investment can be used in the production sector.
