Himalayan White-Water Challenge 2022 concluded

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) organized 20th Himalayan White-Water Challenge 2022  which has been concluded.

Shiva Adhikari, president of NARA said that NARA has been organizing the competition every year with the main objective of promoting adventure water tourism. "Currently, various countries are making artificial rivers and offering rafting. "Even in our beautiful river, we are making it ugly by bringing sewage and garbage," he added.

Stating that the rivers have started to flow due to hydropower projects and sand mining, he said that such competitions will be helpful in promoting the development of water tourism and promoting the development of water tourism.

He said that climate change is having a big impact on rivers, and there has been an active cloud in river protection. Expressing regret over the exploitation of the Trishuli river, he insisted that white rafting should be resumed from Devighat in Nuwakot to Devghat in Chitwan. "Trishuli River is a religious river. Earlier it was known as the 'white water rafting' river of the world. Now its identity is blurred like a river. People's representatives are involved in river exploitation", he said.

Dipendra Shrestha, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Bagmati Province, was the chief guest at the event. In the program Daan Bahadur Gurung, president of Ichchhakamana rural municipality,  Ganga Prasad Nepal,event coordinator and NARA ex-president, Rajendra Thapaliya,Treasurer of NARA, Megh Ale, Ajay Dhakal, Department Head of Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management
(NATHM), SSP Anjali Pokharel, Hemraj Dhakal, Bhakta Dahal, Naresh lal Shrestha, Hari Karki, representatives of Himalayan River Guide Association were in attendance.It was completed under the chairmanship of Shiva Adhikari, president of NARA.
