Narayani riverside on the path to popularity
CHITWAN, Nov 18: Nawalpur rises as a prominent tourism destination for Domestic and International tourists as they are choosing the hotels that offer the magnificent views of Narayani River.
The owner of "The Narayani Resort" Basanta Parajuli said that the number of tourists has risen significantly during the dashain tihar festivities. The occupancy of hotels has risen to 70% from 40% he believes it's due to the various activities offered in riverside hotels like sunset observation, motorboat, etc. There is also a sizable number of pilgrims visiting Devghat dham and Maulakali temple.
Santosh Rana Magar, President of Hoteliers' Association(HA) in Nawalpur, said that they were focusing on providing new faculties and even economic assistance to extend the visit of tourists. Nawalpur should also be promoted as a historic and religious place with natural beauty and cultural heritage. He aims to rival the 3rd most popular tourist destination of Nepal, Sauraha.
He believes Jeep safari, trekking, boat safari to be the main activities for tourists. The most recent games for the National sports competitions, display of various rare animals, varied climate, traditional food, etc can be showcased as a package in the community forests around Nawalpur.
Vice President of HA, Dinesh Kumar Chuke, also had the same views as Mr. Parajuli regarding the entertainment activities and religious pilgrimage. He believed tourism to be a major form of economic development by providing services to the tourists and extending their stay.
