Tourists stranded in Solukhumbu
SOLUKHUMBU, Oct 12: When the weather changes, a large number of tourists are stranded in Solukhumbu. Tourists were stranded in Khumbu area due to the change in weather and air transport services were affected.
Anil Khanal, chief district officer of Solukhumbu, informed that after the non-operation of air services for a long time, tourists have started returning to Kathmandu by road transport.
"There are people who go to Khari Khola by car and go from there to their destination," Chief District Officer Khanal said to Bahrakhari, "Perhaps the weather will clear from Tuesday. And the movement will be easy. Although some have started using road transport, some planes are waiting."
According to Prazia Khanal, about 250 tourists are currently staying in Solukhumbu area hoping for an improvement in the weather. He informed that there is no inconvenience to the tourists in terms of eating and staying as the hotel and accommodation facilities are sufficient.
Air service has been affected due to continuous rains for the past few days.
