Any hassles that Indian tourists suffer when visiting Nepal to be resolved: CM Karki
BIRATNAGAR, Jan 24:Hikmat Kumar Karki, Chief Minister of Koshi Province, has stated that any hassles that Indian tourists suffer when visiting Nepal will be addressed.
Speaking to Indian journalists on Thursday at Koshi Tappu in Sunsari, he stated that steps will be taken by both sides to minimize unnecessary checks and currency exchange complications that Indian visitors suffer when visiting Nepal.
He stated that the Koshi Province government is planning to commemorate the Koshi Tourism Year in 2082 BS, and that required coordination and facilitation will be made to welcome tourists from Bihar, West Bengal, and other regions of India to Nepal.
He spoke with Indian journalists after the main organizing committee meeting of the Koshi Tourism Year, which was held on Thursday at Koshi Tapu.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Karki stated that India and Nepal have excellent relations and that Nepal's tourism may benefit from this relationship. "You Indian media friends will play an important role in promoting our tourism," Chief Minister Karki stated. "Tourism is the main basis for the development and prosperity of Koshi Province."
He stated that the provincial government is committed to increasing tourism in Koshi Province, and that the funding for tourist promotion and development will be raised starting next year.
The schedule for the work to be done for Koshi Province in the upcoming year was approved in the main organizing committee meeting that took place before to the interaction with journalists.
The Koshi Province government has organized a main organizing committee led by Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki to kick off the tourism year in the Milke Jalajle area of Tehrathum on Baisakha 1 (April 14).
