Existence of Nepal itself may be called into question if Himalayas cannot be preserved:Tourism Minister  Pandey

KATHMANDU, Jan 16:Badri Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has stated that if the Himalayas are not conserved, Nepal's very existence may be threatened.

Addressing the MS Music and Entertainment-organized Everest Tourism Award distribution function, Minister Pandey stated that climate change is threatening the Himalayas' existence.

'Climate change is making the Himalayas look black. "The existence of Nepal may be called into question if the Himalayas cannot be protected," Minister Pandey stated during his remarks at the event.

He voiced concern that the country is facing a problem as a result of climate change, citing the challenge of protecting environment.

Minister Pandey further stated that the entire world should stand together to address the impact of climate change on Nepal.

He emphasized that the United Nations should be concerned so that the world may band together to ensure that the Himalayas remain as they are.

He also stated that Nepal is rich in different culture and nature, and he encouraged travelers from all over the world to follow the slogan 'Athiti Devo Bhava'.

The award event honored foreigners from 18 nations as well as natives in a variety of categories.
