Nepal Telecom to distribute a dividend of Rs 30 per share

KATHMANDU:Nepal Telecom Company Limited held its 17th Annual General Meeting in Kathmandu on Sunday. The general meeting unanimously approved of the proposal to distribute a cash dividend of Rs 30 per share in fiscal year 2080/81.

About 91.62 percent of shareholders were present at the general meeting. Radhika Aryal, company chairperson, stated, "We have been successful in generating revenue of Rs 42.11 billion and profit of Rs 6.23 billion by serving more than 23 million satisfied customers."

She also stated that in the next days, the business intends to expand 4G/LTE services in rural locations to support the Digital Nepal vision, as well as high-speed FTTH (Fiber to the Home) services.

She also stated her commitment to continuing to improve the service by supporting research and development to replace technology based on traditional services, as well as considering shareholder and customer suggestions and comments.

The assembly also approved the annual report and auditor's report for fiscal year 2080/81. Chartered accountants Narendra Bhattarai and Prakash Jung Thapa have been appointed auditors for fiscal year 2081/82. The company has made arrangements to transfer the dividend to shareholders through NMB Bank, according to Nepal Telecom spokeswoman Hari Dhakal.
