Hokke Lumbini Celebrates 33 Years of Peace and Hospitality

KATHMANDU, Jan 13:Hokke Lumbini, located in the sacred town of Lumbini, celebrates 33 years of offering peace and comfort to travelers and spiritual seekers.

Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known worldwide for its peace and historical importance. Hokke Lumbini, a hotel managed by Sherpa Hospitality Group (SHG), has been a part of this special place since 1991. It is close to the Sacred Garden and Mayadevi Temple, keeping visitors connected to the spiritual heart of Lumbini.

The hotel was originally started by Japan Hokke Club Ltd in partnership with the Lumbini Development Trust. In 2016, it was acquired by Yeti Group and has been managed by SHG since 2019. Hokke Lumbini combines Japanese hospitality with modern comforts. It has 27 well-designed rooms, including Tatami Rooms—traditional Japanese-style rooms that focus on simplicity and mindfulness.

The hotel also offers Western Deluxe Rooms, which are stylish and comfortable. Special features include the Ofuro Bath, a traditional Japanese soaking tub, and the Lotus Restaurant, which serves a mix of Japanese, Nepali, and other international dishes.

Hokke Lumbini is committed to helping the local community. Most of its staff come from nearby villages, and it sources organic ingredients from local farmers. The hotel also supports projects run by the Lumbini Development Trust and local groups.

Looking ahead, Hokke Lumbini plans to offer more wellness programs, including yoga and meditation, and cultural experiences like local craft workshops. It also aims to improve its facilities by adding new rooms, a swimming pool, and spaces for meditation.

As Hokke Lumbini celebrates this milestone, it continues its mission to provide peaceful hospitality while respecting local culture and supporting sustainable practices. The hotel remains a special part of Lumbini’s story.
