Nepalese instructors organizes sky driving in Pokhara for first time
KATHMANDU, Jan 10:Nepalese instructors are organizing a skydiving program in Pokhara. Simrik Air, with thousands of successful jumps and over a decade of skilled instructors, is about to usher in a new era of adventure tourism in Nepal.
Sky driving will take place in the Lauruk area of Pokhara from January 10-21.
Simrik Air General Manager Murali Dhar Joshi stated that the skydiving program is being conducted by youths who have returned from skydiving adventures in various countries.
The company has created two skydiving packages for this time period: VIP and Deluxe. VIP will cost Rs. 115,000, while Deluxe would cost Rs. 95,000.
Simrik Air has been performing skydiving in Pokhara on various occasions since 2017. He states that previously, diving was conducted by foreign instructors. Now, Nepalese instructors will now conduct skydiving.
A helicopter will take off from Pokhara's old airport for the sky dive. The participants will dive from a height of 13,000 feet.
According to Joshi, if there is enough demand from passengers after this program, the company will begin offering regular skydiving.The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has granted Simrik Air a permit to skydive for 15 days.
Simrik Air is a helicopter service provider that has been offering quick and safe air travel in Nepali skies for the past 22 years. For the first time in Nepal, the business has flown high-risk rescue missions such as firefighting, COVID patient transport, and international search and rescue.
Alish Thapa will lead the event. Alish will be joined by a team of Subash Thapa, Manish Hirachan, Ashish Thapa, and Yasoda KC Thapa, Nepal's first female skydiver and USPA-certified instructor. Their goal is to attract adventure tourists from around the world by highlighting Nepal's natural beauty.
