Tourism Minister Pandey promises to improve Nepal Airlines

KATHMANDU, Jan 10:Badri Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has pledged to reform Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC). In a meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee at Singha Durbar on Thursday, he stated that he would not rest until NAC was reformated.

He stated that the committee, MPs, and government must all agree on a resolution to reform the NAC.

"We will not rest until NAC is reformed. This is not the final meeting, but the committee and the ministry should agree that we will move on from this meeting to reform NAC. "The way we are going is not the right way; there are some issues that should be identified and addressed," he stated.

He also stated that the relationship between the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and Nepal Airlines requires improvement.

"We'll also need to enhance the link between CAAN and NAC. CAAN operates as both a regulatory authority and a service provider. However, CAAN also provides services. Because it is also a service provider, working without cooperation and cordiality will be extremely difficult.

"We will continue with further discussions, result-oriented discussions, and return-oriented discussions in the coming days," he stated.
