729 international flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport in 30 months

BHAIRAHAWA, Jan 07:From Bhairahawa's Gautam Buddha International Airport, 729 flights have been run thus far. According to Pratap Babu Tiwari, General Manager of the Civil Aviation Authority Office at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa, 45,573 passengers took 729 international flights between May 16, 2022, and December 30, 2024 (2079 Jestha 2 to 2081 Poush 15).

24,294 passengers have left the airport, and 21,279 passengers have arrived. For almost ten months after the flight began, flights were halted. On November 3, international flights were restarted and are currently run by Thai Air Asia and Nepal Airlines Corporation. Citing technical issues, Jazeera Airways, Fly Dubai, and Qatar Airways have now halted flights.

Qatar Airways had operated limited flights as per the schedule. Qatar Airways's flight was Doha Bhairahawa Kathmandu Doha.Jazeera Airways had been operating three weekly flights from Kuwait to Bhairahawa, but the service has been halted owing to inclement weather. Fly Dubai had been running a Dubai-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu flight, but has since halted it due to weather circumstances.

The Goverment has been providing 100 percent reductions on passenger service costs, landing parking, navigation, and tourism taxes, 75 percent reductions on ground handling, and $100 off per kiloliter of aviation fuel in an effort to entice airlines to operate international flights. Traveling to Kathmandu for labor duties and health examinations is still required.
