REBAN Pokhara completed preparations for 26th Pokhara Street Festival
POKHARA, Dec 27:REBAN Pokhara has completed all preparations for the 26th Pokhara Street Festival, which will take place in Pokhara beginning on Saturday. According to organizer REBAN Pokhara, the festival will be inaugurated by Minister of Communications Prithvi Subba Gurung, who also serves as the Government of Nepal's spokesperson.
Before the inaugural ceremony at Komagane Park, a rally featuring a cultural tableau will be held from Khahare, attended by several castes, over 60 mother groups, tourism-related organizations, and others, according to festival coordinator Bikash Bhattarai.
According to Bishwo Raj Poudel, the president of the organizing committee, the numerous committees and sub-committees constituted to ensure the festival's success have concluded their preparations. REBAN Pokhara had convened meetings to prepare for the event, including the security council, health committee, and cultural group.
The meeting was held in the presence of Kaski Chief District Officer Bharatmani Pandey, Kaski District Police Office Chief Shyambabu Oliya, Armed Police Force Kalika Battalion Commander Arun Kumar Sharma, National Investigation Office Kaski Deputy Investigation Director Suresh Kumar Tiwari, Krishna Dal Battalion Phulbari Barracks Pokhara Sandeep KC, Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Taranath Pahari, Transport and Parking Committee Coordinator Chiranjivi Pokharel, and other
According to Health Committee Coordinator Bhishma Raj Poudel, Namaste Hospital and the Pokhara Metropolitan City Health Division have also formulated health-related arrangements. Poudel stated that medical treatment will receive special attention, with health desks set up in various locations within a four-kilometer radius of the festival.
Birendra Sherchan, the Festival Publicity Committee Coordinator, stated that the Pokhara Street Festival had outstanding media coverage, as it has in previous years. Sherchan, who is also the committee's general secretary, stated that because the media plays a vital part in presenting the street festival to the foreign audience, he expects strong support this year as well.
Suman Bhattarai, the festival's sports coordinator, announced that preparations for street sports programs had also been finished to add enthusiasm to the event.
There will be street food, tug-of-war, spoon races for waiters and waitresses, boat races, and more. Similarly to the last edition, Basanta Gautam, vice-chairman of REBAN Pokhara, stated that there will be a street dialogue program with tourism information. According to him, the street dialogue event will last two days in Ammat.
