12th Bhedetar Food Festival from from December 31
DHANKUTA, Dec 27:The three-day 12th Bhedetar Food Festival will be place in Bhedetar, Dhankuta, a popular tourist area in Koshi Province. The Bhedetar Hotel Association will host the celebration from December 31 to January 2.
The Bhedetar Hotel Association has indicated that it will conduct the festival to promote tourism around the English New Year. The food festival, which has been conducted annually since 2069 BS, could not take place in 2077 BS owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tumraj Limbu, chairman of the Bhedetar Hotel Association, stated that because Bhedetar plays an important role in promoting tourism in Dharan and Dhankuta, the festival will be held on the occasion of the English New Year 2025 to further promote it as well as for economic development. The majority of foreign visitors visiting the east are Indians, and because Indians have a holiday in the new year, the organizers have claimed that they will host the festival to entice them to eastern Nepal, specifically Bhedetar.
The food festival will promote the historical, religious, cultural, traditional, and tourist sites that have been overlooked. The festival hopes to generate an economic turnover of almost 20 million and attract 40 to 50 thousand tourists, according to Limbu, the Hotel Association's chairman. The three-day festival will include stalls for diverse dishes, organic food stalls, and 25 stalls for local agricultural products, according to the organizer, the Bhedetar Hotel Association.
Visitors to the three-day festival will receive a package of Rs 2,500 per person, which includes a visit to Pathibhara Temple, Sangurigadhi observation, Sky Bridge visit, Namaste Waterfall visit, and first-day accommodation and food at Bhedetar or Namje.
On the second day, a package of Rs 2,500 per person has been planned to include Dhoje Danda sunrise observation, Rajarani Lake observation, accommodation at Namje or Danda Bazaar homestay, and lunch.
Similarly, on the third day, the organizer offers a package of Tamor River rafting, Bhedetar accommodation, and food for 4,000 per person, as well as another package of paragliding, Bhedetar accommodation, and food for 8,000 per person.
