"Fairfield Thamel and Kathmandu Marriott Join Forces for "Thamel Cleanup Day"

KATHMANDU, Sep 23:Fairfield by Marriott Thamel and Kathmandu Marriott Hotel joined forces on September 20, 2024, to celebrate World Cleanup Day with the "Thamel Cleanup Day" initiative. This event underscores their commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement in Kathmandu. 

The cleanup effort aims to beautify the Thamel area, reflecting the hotels' dedication to creating a cleaner city. By actively engaging in community service, the Marriott Corporation demonstrates its belief in the power of hospitality to effect positive change. 

Mr. Gaurav Agarwal, Managing Director of both hotels, emphasized their responsibility to give back, stating, "This initiative allows us to not only clean the streets but also build a stronger, more sustainable community together." 

Vishal Mehra, Cluster General Manager, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of uplifting both the environment and local communities through hospitality.

Previous initiatives include Art Markets showcasing handmade products by children with special needs and the donation of a pottery machine to empower these children creatively. They have also sold artistic bottles made by HIV positive children, empowering their creative skills. 

World Cleanup Day is a global movement that encourages people to come together to clean up their communities and promote environmental awareness.
