Spinal surgery for injured pilot of Saurya Airlines

KATHMANDU, July 24:Pilot Manish Shakya, who was injured in the Saurya Airlines plane tragedy, underwent spinal surgery.

A doctor informed him that he had been shifted to the operating theatre at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal for spine surgery.

In addition, the doctor stated that neurosurgery would be performed owing to the harm to his skull, and that the injury above the eye will also require surgery.

An orthopedic specialist, a neurosurgeon, a physician, and other hospital specialists are all looking into his health.

Eighteen passengers were killed when a Saurya Airlines flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed on Wednesday. Pilot Shakya was rescued while injured.
