HAN condoles demise of former HAN President Shyam Bahadur Pandey

KATHMANDU, July 23:Shyam Bahadur Pandey, former president of the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and founder of the Shangrila Hotel, has passed away. The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) expressed its condolences following Pandey's demise.

Late Shyam Bahadur Pandey was honored by the HAN Hall of Fame 2024. He was awarded national and international medals and awards for his outstanding contributions to the promotion of international tourism in the country by operating star hotels and resorts with international facilities.

During his tenure as President of the Hotel Association Nepal in 1991–1993, the late Pandey made significant contributions to the growth and advancement of this industry. According to the Hotel Association of Nepal, the country has lost a true tourism leader and tourism businessman with Pandey's demise
