Citizens Bank conducted a financial literacy program in all seven provinces

KATHMANDU:Citizens Bank International Limited has conducted a financial literacy program in all seven provinces of the country. at the previous fiscal year, financial literacy workshops were held at its 134 branch offices to raise public knowledge about financial issues.

The financial literacy program was arranged through 21 bank branches in Koshi province, 6 in Madhes province, 47 in Bagmati province, 13 in Gandaki province, 30 in Lumbini province, 9 in Karnali province, and eight in Sudurpashchim province.

The bank stated that it gives financial education to people of all ages, including women, students, farmers, laborers, and those planning to work abroad.

According to bank, everyone in attendance at the session was made aware of the need of financial literacy. In addition, the level of financial literacy, as well as the increasing criminality and risk associated with the rise of digital banking, have been discussed. The initiative has also encouraged the use of the banking system for financial transactions such as cash, transactions, and remittances. The bank believes that this will enhance the banking system and increase financial literacy among everyone present.

In addition, the bank has completed several programs as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. The bank has supported a variety of schools and associations through its branch offices. Under this program, the Chame branch of the bank distributed warm sweaters to the poor and needy students of the prominent secondary school in Chame Manang.

Similarly, the bank's Kohalpur branch held a free health camp in partnership with Kaushalya Hospital in Kohalpur, Banke. Approximately 100 people benefited from the health camp, which provided general medicine eye exams and free medications. In addition, the bank's Dhangadhi branch donated five three-seater benches to Geta Eye Hospital in Kailali. The bank hopes that its activities will lead to good improvements in society.

Citizens Bank offers services through 197 branches, 160 ATMs, three extension counters, and 98 branchless banking units scattered across 60 districts in the country.
