Diyalo Bungalow  opens to the Public in Chitwan

KATHMANDU, July 12:The historic Diyalo Bungalow has become open to visitors as part of the Visit Bharatpur Year 2024. It opened on Sunday.

Hit Bahadur Tamang, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Tourism, cut the ribbon to welcome the public. This Bungalow, which was built in 2019 BS, has been arranged for public view due to the Nepal Trust and Bharatpur Metropolitan City effort.

Speaking during the event, Tourism Minister Tamang stated that Diyalo Bungalow will contribute significantly to the success of the 2024 Bharatpur visit.

He claimed that the Chitwan district is a pioneer in terms of biological, religious, and spiritual characteristics and that it has succeeded in establishing itself as a historical site with the public inauguration of Diyalo Bungalow.

Minister Tamang stated that it was utilized by the previous king to control government power throughout the state, including the east and west, and that it is now crucial to make it accessible to the public for inspection and research.

Given its central location, Minister Tamang expressed his conviction that Diyalo Bangla, with the launch of Diyalo Bungalow, will grow into a major tourism destination for both domestic and foreign travelers.

Similarly, Metropolitan Chief Renu Dahal declared that the public opening of Diyalo Bungalow in 2024 has achieved the goal set for the Bharatpur visit year.

He stated that during the tourism year, the wildlife rescue center was converted into an open zoo, and Thori small customs were established to facilitate the passage of Indian tourists. According to Chief Dahal, the Metropolitan has implemented a strategy of progressively expanding its tourist destinations.

According to Sunita Gautam, member secretary of Nepal Trust, a visit to the Bungalow helps one comprehend the kings' opulent way of life. Because King Mahendra died away, this Bungalow, which is located in Bharatpur Ward No. 1, is regarded as historical.

The Diyalo bungalow owned by the trust was built by the then King Mahendra. King Mahendra died in this bungalow. It is said that King Mahendra used the bungalow for about two years. Especially in winter, the king and members of the royal family migrated to the Diyalo bungalow to escape the cold. That is why this bungalow is also called the Winter Palace.

The fact that King Mahendra passed away in this house and that members of the royal family reside here is another reason it is gaining attention. 52 bigha is the area of Diyalo bungalow.
