Near Bandipur, the traditional newari gems, nestles Ramkot, a charming village that offers a glimpse into traditional Nepali village life. This village is a blend of exceptional natural beauty, ethnic traditions and warm hospitality that provides pure bliss to all travelers. 

Ramkot is home to more than 80 households primarily belonging to the Magar ethnicity. Historically, the Magar people built distinctive circular houses, although very few remain there today. Many of these households have homestay services offering traditional magar hospitality, food, and entertainment with songs and dances as well. This serves as the crowning jewel of the village. 

Local trails lead through villages where visitors can witness typical village life, traditional homes, and interesting temples. The crisp mountain air and the sound of birds chirping create an idyllic mountain life experience.

Ramkot is situated approximately 6 kilometers from Bandipur, making it a popular hiking destination. The hike takes about 1.5 hours, providing a delightful journey through picturesque landscapes and traditional villages. While hiking is the favored mode of reaching Ramkot, the village is also accessible by a jeep road, allowing taxis and motorbikes to make the trip comfortably.

Ramkot is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. On a clear day, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The hike from Bandipur to Ramkot passes through Muchuk Village, offering additional opportunities to explore places like Mukundeswari. The trail is relatively easy, with gentle elevation changes, and is adorned with beautiful butterflies and stunning landscapes.

The best time to visit Ramkot is from October to mid-December and mid-February to May, when the weather is most pleasant and the mountain views are at their best. While the monsoon season (June to mid-September) is also an option, the views are often obscured by clouds, though the village remains accessible via the jeep road.
