"Summit Success: Rajesh Lama's Everest Journey with The North Face"

KATHMANDU, June 06: Rajesh Lama, affectionately known as Lama Dai, achieved a monumental feat by summiting Mount Everest after trekking on foot from his home in Sanepa, Kathmandu. This journey, organized by The North Face Nepal shows Lama's determination and inspires adventurers worldwide.

Lama's expedition began on April 1, 2024, covering 432.6 kilometers in 57 days. Key milestones included:

- April 15: Reached Lukla after traversing challenging terrains.

- April 27: Summited Labuche.

- May 15: Departed from Everest Base Camp.

- May 20: Reached the summit of Mount Everest.

- May 22: Returned to Base Camp.

Lama emphasized perseverance and the enjoyment of every moment, saying, "You can accomplish anything that you are determined to. This is the longest walk of my life, so I better enjoy every second of it." His journey also raised awareness about global warming and waste management on Everest. He also showed beautiful pictures of his journey while expressing his gratitude to his wife, North Face, and many other individuals for his journey.

 

The North Face Nepal provided essential gear, ensuring Lama's safety. Pema Shanti Sherpa, Managing Director, expressed pride in his achievement, highlighting the company’s commitment to exploration and sustainability. Ang Tshering Sherpa, Honorary Consul of Belgium to Nepal, praised Lama’s journey for reflecting the spirit of traditional expeditions and urged government support for climbers.

A trekking guide since 2009, Lama founded LaMa Walks in 2013 and serves as Executive Director at Himalayan Medics. His journey serves as an inspiration to the youth of Nepal, encouraging them to pursue their dreams without fear of making mistakes.
