Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank supports sub-metropolitan and ashram

KATHMANDU:The Narayangadh branch of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited contributed Rs.3 lakh to the Galeshwar Ashram in Tanahun.

The ashram has already erected the Siddheshwar Shiva temple in a pagoda style that reflects Nepali tradition, but due to a lack of funds, the work of laying Nepali stones in the temple courtyard is still incomplete, therefore the bank has provided assistance to complete the construction.  Shambhu Prasad Parajuli, Head of the bank's Bagmati Province 'B', presented Galeshwar Ashram with a check for the same amount.

Similarly, the bank has contributed to the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city's educational enhancement fund. One lakh fifty thousand rupees has been handed over to the fund.

Sunil Kumar Nepal, head of the bank's Far West Province, handed presented a check for the same amount to Gopal Hamal, mayor of the sub-metropolitan city.

The sub-metropolitan stated that the fund was designed to ensure that pupils enrolled in public schools in rural regions do not drop out owing to financial constraints. Through the fund, support is being provided to improve the educational quality of children from underprivileged families.

As part of the bank's corporate social responsibility, various support has been provided to municipalities and ashrams.

The Mahilwar (Lumbini) branch of the bank offered free water and sweets in Lumbini in celebration of the 2568th Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day 2081. Purified drinking water and sweets were provided to over 2500 devotees who had come to visit Buddha's birthplace, Lumbini, on Buddha Jayanti.

The bank has notified us that numerous social and economic transformation projects will be carried out on a continuing basis as part of the social responsibility program.
