Nepal Veterinary Association clarified that chicken diseases do not spread to humans

KATHMANDU:The Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA) has emphasized that there is no reality to the claim that diseases afflicting broiler chickens might infect people.

Dr. Ramakrishna Khatiwada, president of the NVA, and Dr. Kedar Subedi, general secretary, released a joint statement emphasizing that the statements circulating on social media concerning broiler chicken diseases being transmissible to people are false.

The statement mentions that certain persons caused public fear by making deceptive posts on social media that lacked scientific facts and reasoning.

"No disease can be transmitted to humans from consumption of boiler chicken meat as rumored in the market," the statement stated.

NVA also asked not to believe such bad and inaccurate information.

The NVA has also demanded an immediate stop to the dissemination of misleading and unscientific information on social media and to take immediate action against those who spread false information.
