NAC forms a committee to investigate delayed engine repair

KATHMANDU, May 12:The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) formed a subcommittee to look into the delay in engine repair on its '9N-AKX' aircraft. The NAC published a statement on Friday with this information.

"Regarding the delay in the engine repair of the NAC's 9N-AKX aircraft, a five-person investigation sub-committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Captain Sudhir Samsher Rai, a member of the board of directors, the statement said.

On January 10th, engine was sent to Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for repair.  A committee has been formed to investigate IAI's failure to resolve the plane's engine problem on time as agreed and its failure to arrange for another engine as an alternative.

The committee has been mandated to investigate, study and submit a report with suitable recommendations within 15 days.

Before this, Yuvaraj Adhikari, the Executive Chairman of NAC, had instructed on March 5th to follow the agreement between NAC and IAI and seek compensation for the delay.
