Maulakali cable car service to remain closed for a day

KATHMANDU, March 31:Maulakali cable car service will be closed for one day.

According to Maulakali Cable Car Ltd, the cable car service will remain closed on April 1 for regular maintenance.

Cable car has informed us that for that one day, it will only operate until 3 p.m.

The Maulakali cable car, which provides a convenient means to get to the Maulakalika Temple, a holy religious site in Gaindakot, East Nawalparasi, has been in operation since April 14, 2023. 

Six towers have been built on the 1,200 meter long cable car. There are 12 passenger carriages (gondolas) and two baggage carriages. A coach has the capacity to accommodate eight passengers at a time. According to the company, each coach takes five minutes to reach from one station to another.
