TANAHUN, March 30:A street food festival will be organized in Bandipur, Tanahun's tourist town, to celebrate New Year 2081. To encourage tourism in Bandipur, the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, Regional Hotel Association, Tanahun Industry and Commerce Association Bandipur Unit, and REBAN Tanahun organized a street food festival on the 30th of Chaitra, 1st and 2nd of Baisakh.

Kisan Pradhan, Chairman of the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, stated that the street food festival was arranged to celebrate the new year in the district and to promote Bandipur tourism.

He stated, 'Bandipur is a popular tourist destination in Tanahun. The street food event was created so that people wouldn't have to leave the district to celebrate the New Year. We are confident that not only Tanahun inhabitants, but also foreign tourists would flock here.

The street food event will feature cultural programs representing many castes. He stated that ethnic dances from Magar, Newar, Gurung, Brahmin, and other castes will be incorporated in the street food festival.

Apart from domestic tourism, Bandipur is also popular with foreign visitors. The number of Chinese tourists is particularly high here. Most tourist that visit Nepal spend one night in Bandipur.

This year, Bandipur has had tourists from 26 different countries. Japan, China, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, the United States, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Korea, Belgium, Thailand, Taiwan, Switzerland, Malaysia, Holland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Iran, India at Bandipur, and visitors from Greece and Argentina are said to have arrived.

Hotelier Baish Gurung believes that the street food festival hosted in Bandipur will boost tourism. He stated, "Tourists come to Bandipur to visit in the New Year, and the street food festival will attract them even more."

Bandipur rural municipality has created a list of 17 tourism spots in seven languages to ensure that tourists visiting Bandipur have easy access to these destinations. According to Surendra Thapa, chairman of the rural municipality, information on the destination is available in Nepali, English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, and other languages.

Bandipur's 17 tourist spots, including Thanimai Temple, Mani Mukundeshwari Wall (Mini Great Wall), Vindhyavasini Temple, Poetry Library, Patledwar Cave, Pahad Pani, Martyr Memorial Park, and others, have been documented in several languages.

Bandipur can be visited after an eight-kilometer uphill ride through Dumre. From there, you can see the beautiful Himalayas, mountains, and Takura. The snow ranges of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhawalagiri, and other mountains can be seen from Bandipur, which is rich in natural beauty.

Bandipur has 77 hotels, both small and large, that are affiliated with the Hotel Association. Bandipur is home to several hotels, including Green Park, Hotel Durbar Himalaya Fewa, Gambar, Woldin, Bandipur Mountain Resort, Bandipur Palace, and Magar Vizel.

Houses built in the Bhaktapur style, Tundikhel, Thanimai, Tindhara, Raniban, Ramkot, Sunakhari, Khadadevi Temple, Bindhyabasini Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, Information Centre, and other locations have become popular tourist destinations.
